Your methodical and careful exercise plan has helped me more than
any other I've ever been on. I have never actually gone
to a trainer, always figuring I could read about it and be fine.
But the difference has been huge. I feel great physically
and can tell I'm getting stronger. I recently started playing
tennis again after 36 years, and I am in good enough shape to enjoy
it and not be too sore. I'm so busy, I've been grateful to have
someone to tell me what to do! And I love having rubber bands to
work with when I'm on the road. Thanks for your holistic approach.

Over the past 5 years, I managed to put on 30-plus pounds and barely
could do 10 sit-ups, but now working with them for 5 months, they
literally have changed my life, physically and mentally. By following

30 pounds, gained muscle mass and lost over 7 inches from my waist

Pants size from 36 (I should have been a 38) now a 30 - 32

About a year ago my horse bucked me off and I broke my neck. A skilled
surgeon pinned my vertebras together and I spent the next 3 months
in a brace, mostly lying flat on my back. I was told I had extensive
nerve damage and I would need drugs to ease chronic pain. It took
me a week to walk without a walker. I had almost no mobility in
my left arm. I could bend it at the elbow but not reach upward.
I needed help getting dressed. I couldn’t even read a book
as I was unable to hold it up or bend my head to look down. After
6 months of required healing & subsequent inactivity, I grew
mentally fearful, vulnerable and physically weak. I exhausted my
physical therapy benefits and the insurance company wouldn’t
extend them. I cried when I was discharged, as I wanted to keep
trying to get better! My posture grew more hunched and the pain
increased the more I hunched over. I felt lethargic and flabby.
My eating habits were changing for the worse. Only chocolate made
me happy! Still I refused to take any drugs. After consulting several
more doctors, they agreed the nerve damage on my left side would
not get any better since it had now been a year since my accident
and only pain killers would ease my discomfort.
A few months ago I joined, and Alissa Nelms was there that day &
I told her my story. I said I needed help finding my old self. Alissa
coached me on nutrition and set up an exercise program for me. She
skillfully guides me through my work out and her infectious enthusiasm
is positive and inspiring. I have been able to increase my weights
as my left side gets stronger. I have gained a wider range of motion
in my arm & shoulder. I can drive with confidence as I can now
turn my head and look over my shoulder. I reach for things in the
kitchen with my left arm, rather than simply default to my stronger
right side, and I no longer drop jars or cans on the floor. I can
reach the top shelf in my kitchen cabinet and I can pull a shirt
on over my head without help. My energy level has increased rapidly.
The other day I ran a few miles on the treadmill. Having increased
energy also motivates me to resume eating healthier like having
a chicken salad and skipping the chocolate mousse. My posture has
improved significantly and the former pain I experienced all day
every day is almost non-existent. I’ve learned that my workouts
ease my tension and help me relax. I feel stronger mentally &
emotionally and am no longer fearful of injuring myself every time
I move. I enjoy my walks in the wood with my 2 dogs again as I can
hold a leash in each hand. Best of all, my husband says I am finally
starting to seem like my old self.
